Schulte co-managing partner Marc Elovitz responds as Trump announces Paul Atkins as SEC chair nominee
December 5, 2024
President-elect Donald Trump announced on December 4 that he would nominate Paul Atkins, CEO of Patomak Global Partners and former SEC commissioner, to lead the SEC. In a Pensions and Investments article, Schulte Roth & Zabel co-managing partner Marc Elovitz described Atkins as a "seasoned financial regulator with a deep understanding of the complexities of the markets.”
Marc emphasized that Atkins’ experience positions him to “reform the muddled state of cryptocurrency regulation” and promote an innovation agenda at the SEC.
“He knows the plumbing of the financial systems as well as the inner workings of the SEC itself. I would look to him to cut through a lot of red tape and really provide a boost to our capital markets and to investors,” Marc stated.
