Schulte represents Tulsa Race Massacre survivors in Oklahoma Supreme Court oral arguments
April 4, 2024
On April 2, Schulte Roth & Zabel co-counsel, Tulsa civil rights attorney and Executive Director of Justice for Greenwood Damario Solomon-Simmons presented oral arguments before the Oklahoma Supreme Court in a case brought by the two last known survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The Court will determine whether the survivors can proceed with their lawsuit seeking justice for one of the worst racial incidents in US history.
Several members of the Schulte team assisted Damario at the table and were present in the courtroom, including partners Michael Swartz, co-chair of the Schulte Litigation Group, and Randall Adams, Special Counsel for Pro Bono Initiatives Sara Solfanelli, and associates Sedinam Anyidoho, Lea Dyce, McKenzie Haynes and Erika Simonson.
Schulte joined the case in January 2021, and over 25 firm lawyers across all practice groups have supported this historic litigation.
A viewing to witness the oral arguments was held by the firm in support of the Schulte litigation team representing the survivors.
