IBM Watson Health Acquires Truven Health Analytics from Veritas Capital

Schulte represented Veritas Capital and its affiliate Truven Holding Corp. in IBM Watson Health’s $2.6-billion acquisition of Truven Health Analytics, a leading provider of cloud-based health care data, analytics and insights. The transaction was announced on Feb. 18 and closed April 8, 2016. Upon completion of the acquisition, IBM’s health cloud will house one of the world’s largest and most diverse collections of health-related data, and its global talent footprint will be bolstered to 5,000 employees, including hundreds of clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, health care administrators, policy experts and health care consultants.
