Schulte associate Erika Simonson named “Young Lawyer of the Year—Beyond Practice” finalist by AmLaw

Schulte Roth & Zabel associate Erika Simonson has been named a “Young Lawyer of the Year—Beyond Practice” finalist by The American Lawyer.
Erika is a dedicated proponent of civil rights and diversity, equity and inclusion. She has played a key part in many high-profile cases and is an exemplar change-maker in the legal field and beyond. Heavily involved in some of the most important societal and governmental issues of our times, Erika has an impressive body of work, including representing the last three survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre; filing an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding in defense of the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act; and working on behalf of The Southern Poverty Law Center and Fair Fight Action drafting a report on the current conditions of voting rights discrimination in Alabama, which was officially entered into the Congressional Record. In addition, Erika is a firm leader who spent six months with the Urban Justice Center representing Schulte as a 2020 Brooks Burdette Fellow.
